Here is the correct answer after being on the phone with Naomi for almost 30 minutes...

Got to Charitable contributions:

Since you are using the standard deduction, you need to delete all your Charitable contributions.  After that you will get a screen that states you get $300 for filing single (or $600 for Married fining jointly).

Then go back through the rest of the screens for deductions  and back to final review.

This cleared up the issue and I was able to file.

Thanks Naomi!!!!

As mentioned in a different thread, the workarounds do not work in states where you are allowed to deduct more than the federal standard (like california, and others).

In these cases, we need to have the full list of charitable deductions.  We can't just remove them all.

We need a proper fix from TurboTax here.

I had this error also but fixed it by entering $600 for that value instead of $300. The reason is that I was filing jointly with my wife, and in the text on the form above that box it says to enter $600 if you are filing jointly. But this is definitely a bug that needs fixing ASAP.

Married couples filing jointly can claim $600, so enter $600 (not $300) if this applies to you. This should solve the issue.
