2nd home mortgage interest not deducting?

To deduct second home mortgage interest in TurboTax, you must itemize deductions on Schedule A and ensure the loan is secured by the home. If it's not deducting, confirm the home is for personal use, not rented out, and that you have not exceeded the total $750,000 mortgage debt limit.

 

In the 1098 interview, ensure you did not accidentally indicate the loan was NOT used to buy, build, or improve the home.
