Why are your wages being garnished? In order to satisfy an unpaid debt, such as a credit card balance?
If you have a debt that has been unpaid for so long that your wages must be garnished, that is going to create a significant negative mark on your credit score. The garnishments may reflect on your credit report as on time payments, which will gradually improve your score over time but certainly not right away. Also, as you reduce the outstanding balance, you can expect that your credit score will gradually improve, but this will also not happen overnight.
In general, lenders report to the credit bureaus about once a month. So it may take five or six weeks for your first payment to show up in your credit report and your credit score.
