My son worked part time and earned about $7,400, I am claiming him on my return along with his 1098T and school expenses. When he files his tax return is he required to claim his 1098T? One of the questions which came up while completing his return is if he is a full time student, when we answer yes it proceeds to ask the college additional questions. If he says no would the IRS cross reference that against my return?

If you are claiming him on your taxes as your dependent and he is filing (making sure to check that someone can claim him as a dependent), then you will include the 1098 T on your return. He will not include it on his. He will only include the $7,000 in income he had for the year.
