Those expenses are not deductible on a federal tax return. If they are deductible on the state return, you will be asked about them when you work on your state return.

For what purpose are you entering them? Are you a college student? Are you an educator?

I am not a student, but I have 2 children who I bought uniforms, supplies and other school related items for, so I thought I could claim these items for deductions
