Scholarship Grant

I received a 1099-Misc which is for a scholarship grant from AmeriCorps for graduate school.

Do I need to include this on my 1040 and pay taxes?

According to what I read in the IRS web site it is not taxable and should be reported as part of other scholarships on the form.

The simple rule is if you get a 1099-Misc, it's taxable.
