Received a 1098-T from school in another state due to online classes, won't let me enter in return, asking for zip code for my state. How do I fix this?

Where are you getting this error?

You will need to enter the zip code for the location of the school if this is being asked while you are entering the 1098-T.  Make sure you enter the city and state of the school to match the zip code.

I entered the info in this section but at review, it says the zip code needs to be the same state I'm filing in, which is PA.

An out of state college is normal and should not be causing a problem. I think you have another issue.

Follow these steps:

Desktop version:

  1. Delete the form 1098-T
  2. Save your return while closing the program.
  3. Update the program
  4. Open
  5. Enter the information again.

Online version:

A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, so sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files).

For stuck information follow these steps:

  1. Delete the form/ worksheet- if possible, see How to Delete
  2. Log out of your return and try one or more of the following:
    • Don't use Internet Explorer.
    • Clear cache and cookies,
    • Sign in using a different browser.
    • Sign in using a different device.
  3. Log back into your return.
    • Enter the information again.
