The Form 1099-B is the form that reports the Proceeds From Broker and Barter Exchange Transactions. The form was reporting the sales of your employee stock grants

The Form 1099-R is the form that reports the Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRAs, Insurance Contracts, etc.

You are required to include the sale of your employee stock grants, as reported on the Form 1099-B, on your return, To enter the information you should:

  1. Log into your return
  2. Select Federal on the left hand side of the screen in the Black bar
  3. Select Income & Expenses at the top of the screen
  4. Select Other Incomes
  5. Locate the category Investment Income and select Show more
  6. Select Revisit to the right of the line item Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
  7. Answer the questions on the next screen and subsequent screens to enter the information from the Form 1099-B
