Under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the itemized deductions for job-related expenses subject to the 2% of AGI floor are suspended for expenses incurred after December 31, 2017 through 2025.
The expenses of continuing education in your job is a deduction if you are self employed on your Sch C.
Regular W-2 employees are not allowed to deduct job expenses, including educational expenses. The self employed may deduct such expenses if job related, including maintaining or improving job skills.
