529 Distribution, 1099-Q

Since my daughter is a dependent, I have entered her 1099-Q (she is the recipient) and her 1098-T on my return. The 1099-Q reflects a withdrawal for qualified education expenses including an amount equal to the amount of a tax-free scholarship she received. After entering all qualified education expenses, the "Student Information Worksheet, Part VIII - Qualified Tuition Program (Section 529 Plan), Line 8" reflects an amount of "Earnings Taxable to Recipient". Does Turbo Tax automatically reflect this amount in my taxable income or does this amount need to be manually entered on my daughter's return and if so, where?

529 Distribution, 1099-Q

let me try and make you life simpler... please answer these questions and it may not be necessary to enter the 1099Q at all (and p.s. it goes on the return of the person whose social security number is listed on the form)

1) Box 1 and Box 5 of  form 1098T

2) Box 1 and Box 2 of Form 1099Q

3) any qualified expenses (Room and Board, books, computer expenses, etc.) that are NOT part of Box 1 of Form 1098T

4) whose social security number is on the 1099Q

5) are you eligible for AOTC? (AGI below $160,000)

6) confirm your student is a dependent on your tax return.
