Loan provider is not giving me a 1098e
You can claim your student loan interest without form 1098-E. You can find the amount of interest paid on your year-end statement and enter that amount to get a deduction. Please follow the directions below to input your student loan interest into Turbo Tax Online.
- Sign in to your account.
- Click take me to my return.(unless already in return)
- Click my account, at the top of the page.
- Select tools in the drop down menu.
- Click topic search, type in student loan interest and click go.
- On the next screen that says, "Did you pay any student loans in 2016?", answer yes.
- On the next screen enter the name of your lender and the amount of interest you paid.
