You cannot split the expense if it is for you. Only the person with the dependent exemption can claim those expenses.

Your parents cannot claim your education expenses unless they claim you as a dependent, only you can. 

Likewise, you cannot claim education expenses if they claim you as a dependent, only they would be able to.
