I paid for my school out-of-pocket, can I not claim it?

Yes, you can enter the tuition that you paid. TurboTax gives you the opportunity to enter in the tuition that you paid. 

• Click My Account at the top of your page. 
• Then select Tools to go to the Tool Center.
• Click Topic Search and type either education credit, education expenses, 1098t, or tuition payments.
• Click the topic highlighted in the box.
