All the IRS wants is proof you paid the expenses you claimed since the college didn't support your claim on the 1098-T form. Send them copies of the payment receipts.

My daughter recieved a 1098-T w/ ab 70000 in scholarship/grant. Box1 says about 3700. All was used for education expenses. How do we report her tuition which was 58000?
