Hi,
I switched companies in 2021 and so I paid back the tuition reimbursement. The issue is, the tuition I paid my employer back was for the last 2 years.
2019- 4k paid back for this year
2020-10k paid back for this year
2021-4k paid back for this year
I paid the company back in early 2022. So my question is do I not need to file for the tax return until 2022 tax due data since 2022 is the year I paid it back? Also how do I go about filing for this tax return?
I would appreciate any expert advice.

You will not be able to report until next year on your 2022 return because you paid it back in 2022. Basically, this is a repayment of income that was taxed in a prior year. See What is a claim of right repayment? - TurboTax for the instructions.

Thank you for your reply. So would I file the claim of right repayment once for 2022 for the total repaid amount?
Yes, if you read the link carefully, you can actually figure it out now since you know the amounts and you will need the 2019-2020-2021 tax returns to calculate.. @wonsoo
Oh yeah didn't realize the drop down menu. Cool the first method seems easy to do since it will not require my old tax form and just needs to amount paid over. Not as hard as I thought it would be. Thanks for your help @MaryK4 !
