Higher Education Credit, student or parent?

Is it better for us to take the higher education credit or our son who is a full time student. Our son does work a work study job as a math tutor for about 20 hours a week. I have a small business & grossed about $47000 last year. Who is better off taking the credit, our dependent son who still lives at home when not at school or us?

If you claim your son as a dependent, you are the only one who can claim the education credit.  Because he was a full time student and only worked part time, you would probably benefit more regardless.
