Entering 1099-Q for educational withdrawals from a 529. TurboTax insists on rounding the amounts to the nearest dollar and then tells me that it does not balance.

Entering 1099-Q for educational withdrawals from a 529. TurboTax insists on rounding the amounts to the nearest dollar and then tells me that it does not balance.

Round up the earnings to the next dollar amount.

That's because the IRS doesn't deal with pennies, dimes nickles or quarters. Whole dollars only. So if necessary, round up or down a dollar as necessary so things balance.
