Education expense,part was billed on 12/31/2015, for spring 2016. paid 2016. it is not on 1098-T. can i count it?

1098-T only shows a portion of amount I paid for spring 2016. Because part f it was billed on 12/31/2015. but I paid it in january 2016

YES

You claim what was PAID in 2016.

When you enter the information from the 1098-T into the TurboTax software, click on the blue link under Box 2 that asks "What if this is not what I paid to the school?"

Enter the amount the school received, the amount you paid, in 2016.

Make sure you keep copies of the payments made, such as a copy of your student school account statement, for your files.
