Driver Education Credit time frame.

I'm using the Driver Education Credit for my daughter.  I paid for the class and she took it in 2016.  Her certificate says passed 2017 given after she passed the driver's license test in 2017.  Can I claim on 2016 taxes.

If she actually can get the credit, you would get credit for the date that she took and you paid for the class. Not year that she passed the class.
Actually is there a driver education credit at all?  My daughter took driver's education and I didn't see that.  I think you can only receive credit for higher education classes
