Do Flight fees that are required for my avation degree and that are paid directly to my university count as fees and tuition.

Would they count as higher education expenses

Yes, if you are paying the fees directly to your school and this is part of the education for you to obtain an aviation degree, they should be listed in box 1 of your 1098-T if this is the case. 

 

 If they are for you to fly to various locations, then no, it would be considered a travel expense and not deductible.
