My dependent child claimed tuition credit on her tax return in error. An amended return has been mailed. Do I have to wait until her return is corrected before filing my taxes to receive the tuition credit?

Yes.
The best way would have been to let her get her refund and then amend her return prior to you filing.
If she has not received her refund yet and she already amended, it will be tied up longer than if she received her refund and then amended after.
Adding your return, that has a document associated with an amended return, to the mix may well tie everything up even longer.
Wait until she gets hers sorted out.
