My child attended Fall term Sept-Dec. He did placement testing in August. Can I claim 5months as a college student since he did a placement test in August?

High school counts so if he was in high school earlier in the year he was a full time student for the year. Otherwise if in August he was considered enrolled he would have his required 5 months.
He was not in high school the previous year. He took a year off before starting college. He was enrolled for classes and did placement testing in August but the official start of the term was in September. So if he was enrolled in classes but had not started the term that would count as part of the 5months?
Since he was enrolled that counts as 5 months.

A. Yes. The key word is "enrolled". The activity of a placement test is additional support for that position.
