I have a dependent daughter in college. Turbo Tax gave me the the American Opportunity Credit for her but the way the requirement is worded it sounds like she would have to provide 1/2 her support in order to get the credit. Or, since she is my dependent, do I get the credit on the tax form I file with her as a dependent?

If your daughter is under 24 at the end of 2016 and a full-time student, and you provided more than half of her support, she qualifies as your dependent. As your dependent, you only can claim her education expenses (form 1098-T) on your tax return and get the American Opportunity Credit.
If she has income, she has to file her own tax return and indicate that she is claimed as a dependent by someone else in the Personal Info section of TurboTax.
