American Opportunity Credit HELP

On my 2022 Tax Return I answered NO to the question "Has the American opportunity credit been claimed for this student for any 4 prior tax years?"(line 23) and I did claim the American opportunity credit on my 2020 tax return. Do I need to amend my return? Will I get fined for this? What happens now?

Someone please help, I'm not sure what I should do?

You shouldn't do anything. The question is not asking whether the credit was claimed in any one of the past 4 years. It's asking whether it has been claimed for a total of 4 different years. If you did not claim the credit for 4 different years prior to 2022 your answer was correct.
