"You have a schedule 4, other taxes" but I looked it up and it has something to do with a form 1040, and nothing on the form is about us. Being Charged $40 no reason.

My boyfriend is trying to do his taxes and he's got this popup that says he has to pay for the deluxe edition because of schedule 4, other taxes. We looked it up ourselves and it came up with a form 1040, and none of that has anything to do with us. It won't let him use the standard edition and he's redone his taxes twice! I got my taxes done for free and I don't understand why he can't when we're in the same situation.

The 1040 has been revamped by Congress and the IRS. (It is the only tax form this year, the 1040A and 1040EZ  have been eliminated)

Schedule 4 is new and would be required if he owes for the Individual Responsibility Payment for health care (among other possibilities).
