Can you clarify if these are business expenses/ what type of business?
It is a small clothing boutique. Opened 8/21 and having trouble finding where to list all of the expenses. Everything from paint for walls to area rugs, curtains, clothing racks, etc.
The paint would go under Repairs and Maintenance. The other things you mention would be assets. If the cost of them was under $2,500 you can make an election to expense them, in which case you could lump them all together and call them furniture and fixtures.
So, go into your business entries and on the screen that says Your (name of business) Business, find the section that says Business Assets and choose the option Assets to be Depreciated. If you can take the expense election, mark the box on the screen that asks about items that cost less than $2,500. If you do that, then you will be instructed to go back to your business expenses and add an Other Expense and enter the description for Furniture and Fixtures and enter the total cost for the rug, curtains, rack, etc..
Otherwise, you can add each of them in as assets in the Tools, Machinery, Equipment, Furniture category.
