Self employment income is reported on Schedule C. So, technically you can go in and delete that form.
Before you do, please note that if you have received a 1099-MISC or are in the ride-sharing business, you are considered self employed to the IRS. Sole proprietor, independent contractor, consultant and freelancer are all terms used to describe self-employed workers -- whether you do it full-time or on the side.
Three key factors that generally define an activity as a business:
- You intend to make a profit (even if you operate at a loss).
- Your activities are regular.
- You make efforts to sustain or grow your business.
If you truly wish to delete Schedule C:
- In the upper right corner of your return, click My Account > Tools and then select Delete a Form from the options listed.
- Scroll down
the list of forms and click Delete next
to Schedule C
Please comment back if I can be of more help.
