Quick Employer Forms

There's a problem with accessing Quick Employer Forms on the online Turbotax Business 2025. I've tried several times to no avail. Below is what comes up when trying to access QEF through the business software. I'm not going to purchase QEF separately because it's supposed to be included with the purchase of the business software. I've never had this problem in previous years. If it's not fixed, then I won't purchase Turbotax this year.

Go to Quick Employer Forms

Quick Employer Forms enables businesses to create, manage, and e-file employer forms like:

  • W-2
  • 1099-NEC
  • 1099-MISC
  • 1099-INT
  • 1099-DIV

Welcome to Quick Employer Forms

This year, it's easier than ever to create W-2 and 1099 forms online, and automatically e-file the forms directly to the SSA and IRS.

If you are an accountant, tax professional or a business looking for unlimited access to Quick Employer Forms, you can purchase here.

I am having the same issue.  Last year after purchasing Turbo Tax Desktop you would go to Quickemployerforms.intuit.com to type all of your 1099s.  I have tried several times and it does not work

Can you confirm you are accessing the Quick Employer Forms (QEF) from within your TurboTax Business software?

If you access the QEF website directly, it is not recognizing your Business Software purchase, resulting in the "purchase here" prompt you are seeing.

These are the steps to make sure you can get to the online forms:

  1. Open your TurboTax Business 2025 software on your computer.
  2. Go to the Federal Taxes tab (or the Welcome screen if you haven't started a return yet).
  3. Look for a section or link labeled Prepare W-2s and 1099s for my employees or contractors.
  4. When asked how you want to prepare these forms, select the option to Prepare them online using Quick Employer Forms.
  5. The software will open a browser window and automatically pass your credentials and "paid" status to the QEF website.

If the software still leads to a purchase page, a browser cookie or cache issue is likely preventing the connection between the software and the website.

If these are the steps you are already using, here are some things to try:

  1. Clear Browser Cache: If you are using the online version, close the QEF window, clear your browser’s Cache and Cookies, and then click the link in the TurboTax software again.
  2. Try a Different Browser: If your default browser (e.g., Chrome) is stuck in a loop, try another one like Firefox or Edge.
  3. Try an Incognito Window: Open your browser's Incognito or Private mode and then try the link from the software again.
  4. Check for Updates: If you are using the desktop software, make sure it is fully updated. You can do this by going to Help > Check for Updates.

This is not working for me.  I get a message saying "Not a valid account" and when I try to login, it does not recognize the user id.

Today, I cannot access QEF either despite using it yesterday.  I go through Turbo Tax Business Desktop and get stuck at a "Welcome to Quick Employer Form screen".  I have tried all of the troubleshooting and nothing is working.

If you can't sign in at all, you can go to the Intuit Account Recovery page. This requires you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID to verify your identity.
