Yes, but the problem we, and all these other people above this year are having is that the "mock" federal return cannot be submitted because it's false, but we can't turn in a state without a federal. So, are you suggesting that when we e-file, we select "Yes" to filing both the mock federal and "Yes" to filing state? Or are we being forced to send our state taxes this year via paper?
No, do not file the mock federal return. The state returns have to be mailed. You can't e-file a state return attached to a federal return that was not e-filed. Filing RDP returns in CA, NV, or WA. See the steps for state returns. @ajenner
Still confused here as I have never before had to mail my CA state return. If I mail it, which Federal tax return do I send them? Also, my partner does not need to file federal taxes so I would only have 1 REAL federal tax return. Will CA accept this?
A real pain in the ass. I sent in my ca return with my actually federal return not the mock. I was freaking out but after about 20 days I saw on CA FTB it was accepted and I got the money within 2 weeks. Hope this helps brother. I also had a SMLLC tied to it which made it more complicated. But follow what I said and you should be good. At least for now I havnt been audited yet 😂
