How should you report payments on a business asset that you've already appreciated?

I purchased a laptop 2 years ago and reported the full purchase amount on my taxes and it was put in a depreciation schedule as an asset. But I paid for it on a store-specific credit card and have been making payments for 2 years. Do I report those payments as a business expense?

No, you have already claimed the full purchase price of the laptop as a business expense.

If you are making any interest payments on that credit card based on the purchase of the laptop, then only the interest amount can be claimed as a business expense.
