How do I clear a "Needs review" for Qualified Business Deduction? I have left no blanks. I am advised of no errors.

  • Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
  • In the upper right hand corner of the screen, click Federal Review.

If you 'need review', are you not directed a screen asking for information?

The Qualified Business Income Deduction can be originate from many different kinds of income.  Do you know the source of your qualified business income?

If the source is from self-employment income, rental properties or Schedule K-1, are you able to step through those income sources to see whether information has been left out?

I was not sent to a screen asking for more information.  I was re-looped back to the same screen saying Needs Review.  Finally just ignored it, went back to home and finished, still "needing review".

Re-visiting the input screens for your sources of QBI is the best way to make sure you have all the answers. Re-visit 1099DIV, business, rentals, wherever you had sources and step through the QBI questions.
