I started the year as a freelancer, so had an EIN for that. Then mid-year I changed my business into an LLC, and had to get a new EIN for that. For the tax year, how do I handle that? Just use new EIN?

If you are a single member LLC, it doesn't matter which one you use, or even if you use an EIN, unless you have employees and payroll expenses. So using the LLC EIN would be fine.
As David pointed out, unless you have payroll taxes or excise taxes for the business, the single-member LLC does not need an EIN for Federal tax purposes. For example, when you fill out a W-9 for receiving a 1099, you should be using your personal name and personal EIN, not the LLC's.
