I need to deduct "above the line" attorney fees and costs related to discrimination and whistleblower actions. I was informed that the deduction is considered a "write-in" adjustment reported on Schedule 1, Line 36. Where do I locate Schedule 1 for completion? What is the proper acronym used to describe deduction of these types of attorney fees and costs? I understand that the attorney fee deduction reported on Schedule 1 will automatically be reported on Line 6 of my Form 1040. Is my understanding regarding this correct?

Unfortunately, that is a situation that is not supported, however, with the CD/download version in the forms mode, Line 36 on the 1040 worksheet "Other adjustments line H" it can be manually entered. The online version have no provisions to do that.
Enter as UDC- The Schedule 1 line 36 will be subtracted form the 1040 line 7 AGI.
