Got e-file acceptance via TurbTax Business for 2021in early April. Not expecting refund. Just received late filing penalty notice from IRS - stating taxes have not been filed. Cannot get through to TurboTax - on hold for hours with IRS. has this happened to others? TurboTax help says once it is "accepted" it is out of their hands. Other than TT e-file confirm icon and emails, there does not appear to be any sort of reference #. Just screen shotting the TT site & emails does not seem official.
Any guidance much appreciated.

There is a penalty for late filing, but you might be able to ameliorate that penalty.

Just received late filing penalty notice from IRS - you wouldn't get such a notice unless the IRS had the return. you filed late
Late filing of return. A corporation that does not file its tax return by the due date, including extensions, may be penalized 5% of the unpaid tax for each month or part of a month the return is late, up to a maximum of 25% of the unpaid tax. The minimum penalty for a return that is more than 60 days late is the smaller of the tax due or $435. The penalty will not be imposed if the corporation can show that the failure to file on time was due to reasonable cause.
Late payment of tax. A corporation that does not pay the tax when due may generally be penalized 1/2 of 1% of the unpaid tax for each month or part of a month the tax is not paid, up to a maximum of 25% of the unpaid tax.
