Are you reporting a loss on Schedule F Profit or Loss from Farming? How did you answer the question Did you actively participate?
Please clarify.
In TurboTax Online Self-employed, report the income by following these steps:
Honestly, I don't remember it asking that question.
I answered that I operated a farm
Just to clarify,
You have a 1099-MISC
What are you having problems with?
Did it go to Schedule F?
Do you want it on Schedule F?
Are you getting an Error Message saying "Form Not Reported" ? If yes, where do you see that message?
Here is a link which you may find helpful, or continue using this thread if you still need assistance.
When I click done with personal it takes me to form not reported
It is weird because it shows up on Schedule F just like it is supposed to, I just get this message
Then it takes me to the 1099 misc info questions
Then I click farming on source of 1099 misc
Then I select farm 1 as farm that generated the proceeds
And when I hit continue I get the same form not reported message
I can't go any further unless I just select deductions and credits
I tried the review and it didn't show any errors
I'm just not sure that I will be able to efile the return with that message
I'm not ready to efile yet
It is possible that in the going back and forth it might have created a duplicate Form 1099-MISC or that deleting this one and entering in the correct place may resolve the error message.
To delete a duplicate form, you can use Delete Forms
Then, return to the Farm section and enter it again.
I have the same issue. Running TurboTax Home and Business 2022 for Windows. I'll enter the crop insurance proceeds in box 9 of the 1099-MISC while doing Step-by-Step for my Schedule F. When I'm done with the "Personal Income" section of Step-by-Step, it goes through this process before going to the "Deductions & Credits" section:
I click "Continue" and make sure the correct number is entered in "Box 9 - Crop Insurance Proceeds":
Then it asks me to choose the source of the income, which I do:
Then it tells me to go back to Farm Income to enter my income, which I've already done:
Then it asks me to select which farm generated the income, which I do:
Then it brings me back to the start of the process, and it goes on in an endless loop this way:
If I click "Deductions & Credits" in the toolbar above on Step-by-Step, I can skip this part and keep going with no issues. When I get to the "Review" part of Step-by-Step, it doesn't flag this as an error. When I print a PDF copy of my taxes, the crop insurance proceeds show up on my Schedule F properly. Should I be concerned about this issue if I try to e-file?
It would be helpful to have a TurboTax ".tax2022" file for the return that is experiencing this issue.
You can send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:
Go to the black panel on the left side of your program and select Tax Tools.
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
Please also tell us any states included in the return.
Token 1081340
No states
Token # is 1082217. Missouri is the only state.
The situation you described has been reported and is being addressed by the development team.
Take a look at the TurboTax help article below to find a link where you can register your email address so that you are notified when the issue has been corrected in the program. If you click the link and the help article is no longer there, then it has already been corrected.
Why am I getting an error when I have information in Box 9 of my 1099-MISC for farm income?
