Schedule 1, line 24Z will not let me type in without override, and it does not go to subtotal or total. I need to reduce my military retirement by my retroactive VA disability for 2025. DFAS does not send new 1099r to reflect the change.

If you are not able to report an entry on Schedule 1, line 24z in TurboTax Online, you may report the minus entry to military retirement pay on Schedule 1, line 8z.

Follow these steps:

Under Less Common Income, click to the right of Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C.
Click to the right of Other reportable income.
At the screen Any other taxable income, answer Yes.
