Need correct EIN on the return

I have two LLCs: LP1, LP2. Mistakenly LP1 used LP2 EIN I e-filed today and accepted by IRS, state not yet, when I tried to file LP2 Turbotax would not let me do it , saying same EIN used. then I know I used LP2 EIN for LP1. What should I do now? please help

You will need to 1) file the correct return for the EIN you didn't use (LP1) and 2) file an amended (or revised) return for the EIN (LP2) that has been accepted by the IRS.

The first step is very straightforward. Open TurboTax Business 2021 and create a new return using the correct EIN and other information for LP1. E-file this return no later than March 15, 2022.

It's possible the IRS will reject the return you have filed if the EIN doesn't match the other company information they have on file. Wait a few months to see if that happens. If so, revise this return (everything EXCEPT the EIN) and resubmit.

If and when you are certain the first return has been accepted and processed by the IRS, you can prepare an amended return for LP2. Open TurboTax Business 2021 chose Amend a Tax Return from the main screen. Choose the return you did file. Do not change the EIN, but update all other information for this company including activity for 2021.

I did file IP1with IP1 ID successfully, but can not file the amended IP2. since I load one has already e-filed

Yes, you can file an amended return in TurboTax Business to correct the return that was e-filed with the incorrect EIN.

To do this:

Open TurboTax Business.
Choose Amend a Tax Return on the main page and choose the return you need to fix (see screenshot below).
Follow the prompts to verify the partnership info, then enter the CORRECT activity for this EIN, which should be LP2.
TurboTax will help you complete and file this amended return.
