Can I deduct a percentage of the mortgage interest for the business part of the property as a business expense?

Yes, you can prorate mortgage interest in order to claim a portion as a business expense if part of the property is being used for business purposes.

Just be sure to adjust the personal portion so that it does not include the business portion, otherwise you will be deducting too much mortgage interest.
