Individual Request EIN for a trust

Can anyone tell me if on my application for my EIN if it says INDIVIDUAL request that I printed the page before I summited it  does that indicate a grantor trust?  Would it say Separate request if not tied to an individual social security number?

When doing on line it says on the top EIN Individual Request-Online Application

On the bottom it says: https://sa.www4.irs.gov/modiein/individual/verify-information.jsp

Not sure what you're asking, but you select the type of trust from a list and it's tied to the social security number of the individual requesting the EIN.

If you're inquiring about something else, please clarify.

This is what I am asking.  Since it is saying Individual request is this trust tied to an individuals social security number or is it a separate entity such as an irrevocable non-grantor trust.

trying to see what these “Individual request”s on the form mean.

Thank you!!

Still not registering: where are you seeing "Individual request"? It would also be useful to state what you are trying to accomplish.

In short, if you are trying to obtain an EIN for a trust you're establishing (grantor or nongrantor, and note you don't need an EIN for a grantor trust in most instances), then you would input your SSN.

If you have, as an example, something like an irrevocable trust (i.e., a separate entity) and that trust is seeking to establish a second trust with a separate EIN (which is somewhat unusual), then the trust would use its EIN on the SS-4.

I have a copy of part of an EIN application for a trust I am a beneficiary of.  It is a copy from an online request before they hit submit.  It has individual request at the top and bottom of the screen as described in my original post.
I am beginning to think this could be a grantor trust instead of a separate legal entity.

Does not  “individual request for an EIN a sole proprietor, grantor trust etc?  Isn’t that what individual request means?   Opposite of a separate request or is that not the meaning behind individual request for an EIN?

TY!!!

No. It means you're an individual making a request to obtain an EIN for any type of business entity (including a grantor trust, sole proprietorship, single-member LLC).

Thank you!
Confusing.  Isn’t it always an individual that does the application?

Appreciate it.

Yes, of course, because even entities such as corporations can't apply for themselves; they need a responsible party to apply for them.

It sounds as if you're curious as to whether this is a grantor or nongrantor trust and that can be resolved by asking the party who applied for the EIN. However, a nongrantor trust would be more likely from what you have posted so far.
