Your state refund received in 2016 should be reflected through form 1099-G data entry:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Wages & Income
  3. Scroll down to 1099-MISC and Other Common Income
  4. Select State and Local Tax Refunds on Form 1099-G - follow the prompts, you'll be asked to enter your state, refund amount received in 2016 and for which year the refund actually is.
