Why would TurboTax state my 2023 return has been approved; while the irs states my return is still pending?

TurboTax and the IRS have conflicting statements between the status of my federal and state return for the 2023 filing year.

When the IRS receives your tax return with no e-file errors, TurboTax sends you a message that the federal tax return was Accepted.

After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
