Why haven't I received my refund?

This is mainly a user community forum.  No one can know anything specific about your refund here, but we can give you some general information on how to check on it.

Did you pay the TurboTax fees by credit/debit card at the time of filing, or did you choose to pay the fees out of your refund?

Paying during the efiling process does not file the return.  Did you go all the way to the end?  When you went through the FILE section, and  after you paid, did you continue all the way to the end to a final screen and clicked on a big button that says "Transmit My Returns Now?"   And if so, did you get 2 emails--the first saying that the return was transmitted and  followed by a later one saying it if was accepted or rejected?

In your Online TurboTax, be sure you successfully filed.  What is showing for the status of your filing?   Go to the Tax Home.   Which of these terms is used--accepted, rejected, printed, started, ready to mail, or something else?

If you efiled, and if the Tax Home displays that it was accepted, then what do you see at the IRS "Where's My Refund" tracker tool?   Has your refund been approved and released?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

The IRS refund tracker tool normally uses 3 stages:

  • Return received and is being processed.
  • Refund approved.
  • Refund sent and an expected deposit date.

If you chose to pay product fees out of your refund, then once released, the IRS sends it first to a third-party bank where the fees are subtracted.   Most commonly, the company that handles that is Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG).    If you chose that option, we can tell you more about how it works, and how to check on your refund IF the IRS has released it and sent it to SBTPG.

However, if you chose the option to pay $35 to get your refund "up to 5 days early", then the bank involved may be Cross River Bank.
