Why have my state returns not been accepted yet?

Because so many taxpayers file on the deadline, the IRS and State Tax Departments get backlogged so it takes extra time to process returns.  Everything should be processed within the next couple of days.  As long as your returns were e-filed by the due date, they are considered timely, even if accepted later.
