Why did my return not get accepted and i filed last week and somebody just filed this morning and theirs is accepted already?

That often happens when someone files a tax return prior to when the IRS officially opens. The IRS pulls tax returns randomly from the TurboTax servers without regard to when they were actually filed. Since the IRS officially opened today, they should be able to work through the backlog in just a few days.
