Why did I recieve a mailed refund

Although electronic payment information was filed with my returns, I recieved both returns by mail. I dont understand why. All of the banking information was correct.

Nobody in the Community will be able to answer your question.  I know this happened some last year, though I never learned the reason why.  

 

Are you sure you selected "direct deposit" when you went through the FILE portion of your interview?  Even if you had banking information entered, you'd still be required to select that method of refund for both federal and state refunds.

 

If you want to review the method you chose to receive the federal return, you can look at your "Electronic Filing Instructions", which is the first page of the PDF of your return.  I'm linking you to instructions below for finding that page.

Thank you for your reply. I did look at the selection as recommended and it was selected to recieve a direct deposit. 

I guess it will remain a mystery.
