Why can't I see my tax refund status?

My tax home page only says accepted, why don't I have a date for a refund?

Because the IRS is still working on it.  Accepted just means received for processing.  Approved is a later step, and then Sent.

The IRS started accepting 2020 income tax returns February 12, 2020.  The income tax returns that were filed before that date were stock filed and processed on a first in, first out basis.  If you successfully transmitted your income tax return and was accepted by the IRS, the federal refund will be processed in 21 business days, assuming no error/s on the return.  You can check the status of your refund at irs.gov and click the Refunds tab, enter the primary social security number, filing status, and gross amount of refund.  For state refund, refer to your local state revenue website.
