TurboTax will automatically save your information when you close out of the program.  
Just remember when you come back, make sure to use the same User Id and password as you used to start your return. That way you will pick up right where you left off.

When I add data then select save I get a dropdown form to fill out to make a passcode and security question. Then I select save and I get a warning that it can't be saved and the document is read only. Then says try saving to another volume. Have no idea what to do! I have used TurboTax for many years and I have never had this problem. I have wasted many hours starting over and getting the same result. I need help.

Are you using the online version or desktop?  If online, please try clearing your cache and temp files and or open a different browser: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/troubleshooting/help/how-to-clear-your-cache/00/26135

 

If using the desktop version, please check for updates and relaunch the software.
