Solved: Where's my refund says there is a delay with a reference number 1541. What does that mean?

I hope everything is alright with you Toya. I suggest you continue to contact them to stay in the loop. My 1541 code showed up on the 17th when all eic/etc was updated (Saturday). So i really hoping mines is a delay due to high processing.

Thanks..the lady from the irs says it can just be a delay.. hopefully that's what it is and I will see a DD by the 27th.. I'll keep everyone informed

I called the irs the morning & the lady was really nice telling me about the letter saying I don’t have to do anything now but it is under review but unfortunately because of the letter I have to wait 60 days and if I haven’t gotten my return or another letter then I can call back I’m a little depressed praying for the best and hopefully I know something sooner but on wmr it still says code 1541 take Action there is a delay

They told me the same thing..but she also said it might not take 60 days it can come before

I received the delay on 2/10 and received a letter on 2/14

from what i read up for people who were told the 60 days. If all the information lines up its a 2-4 week process. Also from information i am gathering, it seems like we all got code 1541 on different dates. I think the different date has to do with it being different reasons. Just a hunch

I talked to a irs rep again the lady told me my refund is there it’s processed it’s just on hold under review it can take the 60days it can take 5 days but if I don’t receive it by the 60th day call that day I guess it’s just whenever they feel like it witch really sucks so I guess I’m just playing the waiting game with them

@ladonna1988 There’s really no reason at all for them to hold it for 60 days when there’s nothing wrong. But, in the meantime, you can always check the SBT website. Still receiving the same message. I called twice yesterday. One rep said that “the letter you received 4464C informed you that you're return is being reviewed and you should give us the allotted 60 day time frame before calling”... I called again in hopes that some one could give me some answers, the 2nd rep was very nice, and could hear the aggravation in my voice so she actually took a look into my account; she mentioned that the wages I reported didn’t match up with what they had(one job I worked close to 2 months that I left out bc I didn’t think it would matter). She said they have to verify and that I should wait it out and not to submit an admendment until they have processed what they have so far. I asked could it be rejected, she said no it hasn’t been rejected at all that I should just give it to the 27th. Crossing my fingers that, that is the actual release date. Does anyone with the Take Action message have their return amount listed or just the Dec. 31 date like me?

1541 topic..No Take Action...Just if we have ??? 2 call? We received our state yesterday..No letter yet..Filed 1/29 thru Turbo..We never had any problems...

I filled mines a week before they started accepting ... once accepted i was in the processing pool.I wanna say on or about the 10th or 11th i seen i was flagged with a delay so I’m like “Awww shit” i know i haven’t did anything wrong... got my 1541 letter around Valentine’s Day (some present huh) i kalled my tax preparer today & she said that it it shouldn’t be anything since I’ve filled with her the last 3yrs & have had the same dependents but I’m still PISSED kuz it’s my money & i need it NOW type shit
