Where is my refund?

I filed taxes for 2021 on April 3 and the return was accepted on the 4th. I have not heard back anything and I used the online refund finder and it says "my return is being processed." It has been over 21 days -- what should I do. Also, does anyone know the IRS email address?

What you should do is continue to wait and be very patient. The IRS is severely backlogged this year and processing of tax returns is taking much longer than normal. You can check "Where's My Refund?" on the IRS web site about once a week to see if there is any change in the status.

You cannot contact the IRS by email. They do not have an email address for taxpayer contact.
