Filed 1040 form amended form is 1040a, do i need to sign and return blank 1040 form and changed 1040a or just the 1040a?

When you file an amended return using form 1040x, you will need to mail the amended return (1040x), any supporting documents and your payment to the IRS (if you owe). If when you filed your amended return using form (1040x) and it changed your original tax form from 1040 to a 1040a, you do not need to mail the original return in with your amended return unless the program tells you specifically to do so.
